Project planning & engineering

Our project planning and engineering services in the field of drinking water supply include feasibility studies, preliminary planning, and detailed planning of facilities. We create technical drawings, specifications, and customized concepts and solutions for water extraction and treatment, water distribution with buffering, pumping stations, pressure maintenance, and network integration. Efficiency, hygiene, environmental, and safety standards are taken into account. We also provide support with approvals, quality and documentation processes, risk assessments, and the coordination of construction, commissioning, and operation. We offer a comprehensive service from a single source, including the optimized integration of peripheral technologies, e.g., from the fields of alternative energy generation, detoxification, or wastewater technology.

Water and hydraulic analysis

Water and hydraulic analyses are crucial for water supply. Using state-of-the-art laboratory technologies, we test the chemical and microbiological properties of the water to ensure that it complies with health standards and application specifications. We also analyze pressure conditions and the condition of the pipes to identify leaks and water losses. This data is essential for taking targeted measures to optimize infrastructure, minimize water losses, and increase supply security in the long term. Regular water analyses are therefore an indispensable component for reliably and sustainably securing the water supply as drinking water, industrial water, process water, or product water.

Electrochemical treatment of water

The primary goal of water treatment is to produce hygienically safe water. Disinfection is the key to ensuring safety and efficiency.

Our EC disinfection systems are used for the sustainable disinfection and treatment of water of almost all qualities and for the thorough protection of water-carrying systems. EC technology offers immediate, depot, and long-term effects, works without chemical dosing, is a risk-free and long-term proven system with low energy consumption, and complies with international standards. Developed and manufactured in Germany, EC technology stands for the best and most stable water quality, effective infection protection, long-term stable technology, energy efficiency, and environmental and resource protection.

Well construction

Well construction is an important solution for accessing clean water in Africa and arid regions. Rural areas often lack reliable water sources, which impairs quality of life. By tapping into groundwater, we can utilize deep reserves and ensure a sustainable water supply. Our subsidiaries in Mauritania and Guinea, as well as our branches in Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Benin, and Zambia, work closely with regional specialists to implement the infrastructure associated with the wells, such as canal construction and pipe laying.
Advantages: Reduced dependence on unsafe sources, less time spent transporting water, and improved hygiene, partly due to the elimination of unsafe transport containers. This eliminates the risk of infection and creates a safe supply infrastructure for public life, households, businesses, livestock, and agriculture.

Desalination plants

To ensure the water supply, we install customized treatment systems with conventional and solar-powered desalination plants, depending on the quality and availability of groundwater. We rely on highly effective filtration and disinfection components such as reverse osmosis/ultrafiltration coupled with multi-stage filtration, activated carbon filters, and innovative electrochemical processes, as well as classic chlorination, ozone treatment, or UV irradiation upon request. These technologies effectively remove salts, minerals, pollutants, and pathogenic microorganisms to ensure water hygiene and quality. The membranes of the desalination plants are protected by means of an upstream oxidation stage. Through this targeted use of a combination of processes, we ensure that the treated water complies with strict legal requirements, is harmless to health, and enables sustainable use.

 

Sewer construction

As part of pipeline construction, we carry out comprehensive earthworks to ensure the safe shoring of trenches and excavation pits. Our experienced specialists use modern techniques such as GPS-controlled machines and precise surveying to carry out the work efficiently and accurately. We place particular emphasis on the stability of the excavation pits in order to prevent accidents and damage. We also minimize environmental impact through careful earthmoving and sustainable construction methods. Through careful planning and strict adherence to current safety standards, we guarantee on-time implementation that meets the highest quality standards.

Pipe laying

Pipe installation is a central component of our services. We use high-quality materials such as cast iron, AEP cast iron, HDPE, and PVC to ensure durable water and wastewater systems. Cast iron pipes are characterized by high pressure resistance, while HDPE and PVC are known for their flexibility and corrosion resistance. We use high-quality sleeves and flanges to ensure secure, watertight connections. We also segment pipe systems into manageable sections, which facilitates maintenance and repair. Through this careful selection of materials and planning, we ensure the reliability and longevity of our installations.

Before each commissioning, the supply installations are subjected to electrochemical pipe network disinfection upon request, because it's better to be safe than sorry.

Measurement, control, and testing systems

These control systems are essential for a reliable water supply. Our modern measuring systems monitor water flow, pressure, and important quality parameters in real time to continuously ensure the functionality of the network. They enable early detection of leaks, pipe breaks, or other malfunctions, minimizing damage and reducing water loss. Solar pump systems are an innovative and sustainable solution for drinking water supply, especially in remote areas, regions with poor infrastructure, or for temporary projects.
